Yellow Commerson’s frogfish
Scientific name: Antennarius Commersoni
Description: The Commerson’s frogfish has a round-like and bumpy body with no scales. This fish can come in a variety of colors and often look like the sponges they live on. Their color and body shape help them hide with the sponge and wait for small fish, lobsters and crabs. They can also “crawl” around on their rounded fins to get around the reefs in the Pacific ocean or Red sea and find food actively.
Fun Facts:
- Frogfish can open their mouth 12 times the size of their own body!
- They have a tiny modified fin hanging off the top of their head and use as a fishing rod and lure!
