Scientific name: Morus Bassanus

Description: Fairly large aquatic birds with a wingspan of about 6 1/2 feet, the gannet bird is a majestic hunter. Feeding primarily on herring and mackerel, gannets have been observed diving 60-100 feet above sea to catch prey.The gannet is covered mostly in white plumage, wings tapering to black, have grey eyes and a blue beak. The gannet possesses short legs and webbed feet making it difficult to walk on land and yet they are fast and powerful in flight.
