Description: A long and slender fish reaching up to three feet in length, has an elongated trumpet-like snout with one barbel on its chin. The fish can change its coloration depending on background. They inhabit shallow seagrass beds and coral reefs. Trumpetfish enjoy feeding on other fish and invertebrates. They swallow prey whole with powerful suction and and an expandable mouth.

a. They swim vertically with their heads hanging down to camouflage within sea fans and sea whips.

b. Trumpetfish can expand their mouth above the diameter size of their own body!
