Eyestripe Surgeonfish
Scientific name: Acanthurus dussumieri
Description: Generally Blue and yellow in coloration, this fish has a distinctive yellow bar horizontally across its eyes hence part of its name. They have a small white spine near the tail for protection. This fish can grow up to 50 cm in length and feed primarily on algae.
Fun Facts: The small spine on their tail is about as sharp as a surgeon’s scalpel hence their name!
