Black-spotted snake eel
Scientific name: Quassiremus Ascensionis
Description: The eel appears to have a very small pectoral fin and is generally covered in black spots and patches. The black spotted snake eel’s habitat includes sandy and grassy areas therefore it has been observed quite often buried in the sand with only its head breaching. Found primarily in the Caribbean, the snake eel can grow up to 71 cm in total length.
Fun Facts: Although many confuse snake eels as the very venomous sea snake, this guy is simply an eel!
